As we turn the corner from the winter months of basketball and football, we begin to look forward to the 2015 baseball season.  The great and talented folks here at Tomahawk Take got together this offseason and over many discussions, we have finally agreed upon our top 20 Atlanta Braves prospect list.

Over this past week, we have walked you through prospect number 20 all the way down to number six.  Today, we’ll let you in on our top 5 Braves prospects.

This time last year, I think I’m in the same boat as many when I say I was scratching my head thinking ‘these minor league teams aren’t that impressive and is this list really our top 20 prospects?’

More from Tomahawk Take

Well, the times have changed quite a bit from 2014…

John Hart

, Braves President of Baseball Operations, came into the front office and really shook some things up – for the minor league squads, in a good way.

The 2014 Braves top 5 prospect list looked like this (from five to one) – Mauricio Cabrera, Jason Hursh, J.R. Graham, Christian Bethancourt, Lucas Sims.

Spoiler alert (you need to click on the links that follow to see our prospects 20-6) – Cabrera is now ranked 18th, Hursh is ranked 10th, Graham now plays for the Minnesota Twins, Bethancourt is ranked 8th and Sims…well, I can’t share that information yet!

This really shows what the Braves did this offseason to acquire new/young talent for our minor league system.  Some may really like what the front office did, others may despise of it.

Below are the links to our previous prospect profiles.  As we complete our top 20 Atlanta Braves prospects, take a look back 20 through six…

Now lets get to it! Your Atlanta Braves top five prospects are NEXT!!
