Allard is a lefty with a pitch arsenal that scouts believe will have two if not three plus pitches. At least they did before being diagnosed with a stress reaction injury to his back and missing most of this spring.
Prior to his injury his fastball was already a plus pitch but Keith Law rated it a future 60. His curve is not quite a yellow hammer but it does drop in hard from 1 to 6 and can be impossible to hit. His change is a work is progress but could well turn into a plus pitch as well.
His deliver is a work in progress and has enough flaws to make some scouts flinch. He throws across his body and that results in a recoil that’ hard on the whole body; worse that Alex Wood. Any delivery that complicated is going to be hard to repeat and Allard does have issues in that area.

A back injury at his age is worrisome and there were a lot of pitchers with better stuff on the board who weren’t injured. That makes this look like a sign below slot shot and hope he stays healthy shot.
Allard projects as a middle of the rotation arm.
