The runs are getting scarce… and somehow I don’t think it’s entirely due to the pitching coming from the Mets and Nationals. Last night, the Braves scraped together a lone run to extend the evening, but despite 10 hits, the “big one” was missing – leaving runners in scoring position all evening (0 for 7, including 0-for-the-9th-inning-onward).
As good as he was, Shelby Miller couldn’t be perfect, and that’s the margin of error that his offense supported. Thus despite his great work – and notably 3.2 innings from a bullpen that allowed only 3 hits and a lone run as well – the Braves dropped a second game in this series.
The wrap will be this afternoon at 4:05pm with a Wisler/Fister matchup.
