Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Well, I’ll tell you what….you can’t pitch much better than how Williams Perez pitched on Wednesday.  8 innings pitched, two hits, one run, zero walks and four strikeouts.  The Braves offense helped Perez out by having 10 hits in the ball game and eight of which came before the 6th inning.  Freddie Freeman is heating up as he went 3-4 with a homer.  His batting average is up to .289 and has six home runs for the season…who said he was “done” a few short weeks ago??

Just How Bad is the Atlanta Braves’ Offense?

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: If you watch the Atlanta Braves play every night, you’ll know all about these stats that the Cheat Sheet boys put together, but seeing them on paper is eye-opening.  It won’t be easy to score runs in 2016 because of the current lineup manager Fredi Gonzalez has to put on the field each night.  Is there a way to work around this?  Possibly.  Play to the players strengths and play small ball.  Probably is so far in 2016, if and when we do get hits, it’s usually with two outs.  The Braves have played one of the hardest schedules in the first month and a half so things could look brighter as the season goes on…at least a little brighter.

"We start off by looking at the various team batting statistics that make the Braves the worst offense in baseball (by a good margin). Entering play Tuesday, Atlanta had scored a whopping 90 runs (or three per game) through their first 30 games, which places them last. The next piece of horror may be the most stunning: seven total home runs. That is less than one-third the amount of any other team in baseball and there are more than a couple dozen major leaguers who have knocked more than seven out on their own. Where is Rick Camp when you need him?Given the putrid run and home run totals, it comes as no surprise that Atlanta is also dead last in the following team hitting categories: total bases (291), runs batted in (87), slugging percentage (.288),  and on-base plus slugging percentage (.582). They are also last in at-bats per home run at a staggering 144.3 mark, which isnearly 100 ABs more than any other team in baseball."

Marine reunites with daughter at Atlanta Braves game (Video)

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: If you missed the pregame of Wednesday night’s Braves vs Phillies game then you may have missed a great moment at Turner Field.  After the National Anthem one of the young girls singing noticed her father standing by the dugout.  They both rushed to one another and embraced the moment.  The video is below.

"At the Atlanta Braves game on Wednesday night, there was a great moment on the field, as a United States Marine returned home from deployment to surprises his daughter at the game.As his daughter was part of a chorus singing the National Anthem, the Marine came out onto the field as his daughter ran to embrace him."

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note:  An Atlanta Braves catcher hit an inside the park home run on Wednesday.  Yes, I said catcher and inside the park home run!  Joseph Odom, playing for the Carolina Mudcats hit his “third” home run of the season as he roped a line drive into the right field gap.  The right fielder missed played it and actually went overboard allowing Odom to run around the bases.  The 24-year-old is batting .297 for the 2016 season.
