Despite Teheran’s struggles on Sunday, there’s still a lot of reasons to think that teams will be in pursuit of him

A cursory glance of your paper this morning (if anybody still does that) might make you think that Julio Teheran was out-pitched yesterday in the Braves’ 7-3 loss to Miami in the finale of their 3-game set.  Tom Koehler got the W, sure, but the Braves’ offense once again failed to take advantage of the opportunities:  3 hits, but 5 walks.  They did manage 3 runs, but the latter pair didn’t come until too late to take Teheran off the hook.

Julio Teheran did not pitch nearly as well as he has of late, but he clearly fought through those issues to keep his club in the game.  In fact, it was only one pitch – the 113th and last one he threw – that kept him from having a quite respectable line on Sunday.  4 hits, 1 ER, 3 BB, 3K looks good.

Regardless:  on almost any other team, that’s enough to win, and this happened despite a ‘rough’ outing.  So despite the fact that John Coppolella set expectations for interested teams this weekend amidst rampant trade speculation in the national media, I think he might need to invest in a couple more phone charger packs.

As a convenience to him, here’s a good option:  16,740 mAh… good enough for 5 or 6 recharges, with fast charging on both input and output.

No thanks will be necessary: it’s just one of the services we provide around here.

Here’s your box score from yesterday afternoon:
