Teheran Continues to Shine as Atlanta Braves Take Game Three From Rockies

In what could be the longest 1-0 National League game I’ve ever heard or seen – and I’m old- the Atlanta Braves took game three from the Rockies.

Terrific Teheran

Last week Mike Foltynewicz pitched a Sunday gem, today Julio Teheran enjoyed the Sunday sunshine as he baffled the Rockies for seven innings.

Teheran struck out Charlie Blackmon leading off the game and was in charge through throughout his seven inning outing. The first Rockie to reach base was catcher Tony Wolters with an excuse me bloop hit to right.  Julio retired the next eight hitters before Blackmon got the Rockies second hit with a two out single to left.

Teheran almost picked Blackmon off but some fancy hand movements helped him avoid Freddie Freeman’s tag.  Blackmon reach second on a wild pitch but Teheran settled down and the inning ended quickly.

In the seventh Teheran gave up his third and last hit, a two out double but once again the Rockies couldn’t do anything with his fastball. On the day Teheran threw 101 pitches – 62 for strikes – allowing three hits, striking out five and walking one; Jon Gray was nasty as well.
