As trade rumors swirled around White Sox pitcher Chris Sale, the Atlanta Braves looked to turn it around in the Mile High City against the Rockies in game two.

Braves starting pitcher, Matt Wisler, got the scoring started in the second inning. Wisler blooped a single to center off Tyler Anderson that plated Adonis Garcia.

The Rockies came right back in their half when rookie sensation Trevor Story blasted yet another home run, scoring Carlos Gonzalez. It was Story’s 25th home run of the season.

Atlanta quickly tied things up again in the third. Freddie Freeman came around to score on a Garcia single to right field.

In the top of the fourth, Atlanta would score again thanks to a SAC fly from Chase d’Arnaud, scoring Anthony Recker. Pushing the lead to 3-2 Braves. But in the bottom of the sixth, Colorado went all Colorado.

A double from Gonzalez scored D.J.LeMahieu. Story kept his big night going with a RBI single and Tony Wolters capped off the sixth with a 2-run single, plating Story and Ryan Rayburn.

The Braves got to within three when Erick Aybar reached on an error that allowed Freeman to score. But that’s all the Braves would be able to muster on the night.

In the eighth, that man again, Story, notched his secon home run of the night, and 26th of the season, and made it an 8-4 Colorado lead.

It’s been a tough go of things since the Braves have come out of the All-Star break. Atlanta has stumbled to a 2-7 record to start the second half. The Braves get one more shot at the Rockies tomorrow, as both clubs wrap up the season series.
