Braves Top Prospect Could Miss Time

This ever what you want to hear about your top prospect – Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies left Wednesday night’s game after apparently injuring his right forearm after a swing.

In the sixth inning of the Mississippi Braves’ playoff game against Pensacola, Ozzie took a swing on a ball that was in on his hands, immediately following the cut, he grabbed his arm.

The bottom of that inning, Pensacola scored a run and in the 7th they scored two more.  The M-Braves fell in game on of the divisional round matchup, 6-5.

Nothing official has come out about the significance of the injury, but just by first glance it doesn’t look good.  I’m sure the teams doctors are doing their tests and seeing what they find.  Hopefully Albies is just day-to-day, but you never know.

Here is the injury…

From where he grabs, it looks like it’s either his forearm or his elbow, but the injury is definitely on his throwing arm.  It could be a strain, something broke, something popped, just a bruise…who knows.  But if it is something significant, this could hurt the Atlanta Braves 2017 plans.

And a couple updates from Twitter…

News is suppose to come out about this injury later today.

We’re all counting on you.  We’re all losing sleep because of this. We all can’t believe until we know you’re all right.  So please be okay Ozzie, please!
