It’s been a busy last 24 hours for baseball news and the Braves seems to be on the fringes of a lot of it.  Here’s your wrap of everything here.

Atlanta Braves legend Tom Glavine is part of a group making a bid to buy the Miami Marlins.  This according to a Bloomberg news report Thursday afternoon.

Pssst! Buddy – Wanna By a Team?

The source cited in the Bloomberg piece names the son of former GOP Presidential candidate Mitt Romney (Tagg Romney) as the leader of the group.  Romney is a co-founder of Solamere Capital.

Though the bidding process is said to be private, the Romney-Glavine partnership would be a rival to at least one other set of bidders.

In recent days, separate groups identified as including former Florida Governor and ‘first brother’ Jeb Bush and Yankee great Derek Jeter are said to be considering a combined bid.

Comically, Bloomberg’s report notes that Jeter his .306 against Glavine with 3 homers and 5 strikeouts over 39 plate appearances.  Nice.

The price for the Marlins is expected to be at least $1.2 billion.
