Bartolo Colon Rocked as Atlanta Braves Fall To Philadelphia Phillies 11-4 at Home
Bartolo Colon put his Braves in a hole early, giving up eight earned runs and lasting less than four innings Monday night to the Phillies.
Atlanta (24-31) managed four runs on eight hits Monday night at home, but it was over early as veteran starter Bartolo Colon game up a game’s worth of runs in a short start.
In the end, the Phillies managed 13 hits against Colon and the Braves bullpen, beating Atlanta 11-4 to take game one of four at SunTrust Park.
Philadelphia got the barrage started early with three runs in the first inning and another in the third, meanwhile Nick Pivetta held Atlanta scoreless through those first three.

The Phillies added five more runs in the fourth, leading to Colon being pulled after just three and a third in favor of Sam Freeman. Bartolo left having allowed eight runs on seven hits (including a homer) and a pair of walks.
Atlanta finally got on the board with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth when Matt Adams and Rio Ruiz scored on a Johan Camargo triple.
The Braves got Philly for another run in the fifth and again in the seventh, but the Atlanta pen allowed two more in the eighth to put the final touches on their third straight win.
For Atlanta, Ender Inciarte stayed hot, going 2-for-3 with a pair or walks and a pair of runs on the night.
Brandon Phillips and Johan Camargo each went 2-for-4 for Atlanta, and combined for three their team’s RBI.
In the end, Colon moved to 2-7 on the season, and Atlanta lost sole possession of second place int he National League East, now tied with the New York Mets.
