Ender Inciarte wasn’t the only Atlanta Braves representative at the 2017 All-Star Game

2017 MLB All-Star Game resulted in a 2-1 AL victory in extra innings

The star of the night was Robinson Cano and his top of the 10th inning solo homer off of Wade Davis.  This put the American League up 2-1 in extras and eventually would be the deciding run for the All-Star victory.  Though he was the man of the night for the league, fans from all over were watching their players from their teams.  We were all paying attention to, of course, Atlanta Braves outfielder Ender Inciarte!

Inciarte entered the All-Star game in the top of the 6th inning.  He replaced Colorado Rockies’ Charlie Blackmon in the leadoff spot and in center field.

Once Ender entered the game, he was tested.  George Springer flew out to center for the first out. It was a very routine catch, nothing Ender-like.  Then for the last out of the 6th inning, Nelson Cruz flew out sharply to center.  Another non Ender-like play, but he made the catch and we went to the bottom of the 6th.

Inciarte finally got his chance at the plate in the bottom of the 8th inning.  He faced Houston Astros pitcher Chris Devenski…a guy the Braves just saw on July 5th.  Inciarte didn’t face him in that game though.

The Braves 26-year-old took a 1-1 pitch and drove it to the right side of the infield, but the AL’s first baseman Yonder Alonso made a great play and got Inciarte out at first base.

He had another opportunity in the bottom of the 10th inning at the plate.  This time he was facing one of the toughest left-handers in the game…Andrew Miller.  Inciarte and Miller battled to a full-count, but on the seventh pitch of the AB Inciarte grounded out up the middle.

At first, I thought Inciarte had a base hit, but Francisco Lindor was playing him perfectly.

Inciarte finished his first All-Star game 0-2 at the plate, but we still love him!

The fans and MLB only selected one Atlanta Braves player to represent the team in the 2017 All-Star game in Miami, but Ender Inciarte wasn’t the only guy from the Braves to show up.

MLB asked the craze from the Southeast The Freeze to participate in the festivities.

The fastest thing since slicing bread, The Freeze has been a big hit within the Braves community and all of baseball.

One lucky fan got to race The Freeze at Marlins Park on Tuesday night and that one lucky fan was extra lucky.  The fan was pretty fast, but The Freeze can’t be beaten…right?

Atlanta Braves Freeze gets beat, but it’s all in good fun.  It’s pretty cool MLB decided to bring The Freeze to Miami and let him participate in this event.  Everyone watches this race.  You see in the video, even Bryce Harper was watching it.

The second half of the 2017 season picks back up on Friday, July 14.  The Braves will play the Arizona Diamondbacks in a three-game series at SunTrust Park.  Hopefully, The Freeze and Inciarte have better games 🙂
