Braves share photos of Players Weekend uniforms

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note:  I love this event!  The nontraditional uniforms that the Atlanta Braves players wore were dark blue shirts with red sleeves, numbers and caps and white pants. They actually looked really cool, in my opinion.  But if you sit back and think about it, it’s all about the merchandise that we all will buy.  I’m sure the numbers are insane when the MLB or any other sports league does something like this.  Everyone wants it…especially me.  I’ll admit, I purchased the hat.  The Rockies’ road gray uniforms had light purple sleeves,

A couple of the players shared their uniforms on social media…

Johan Camargo and Adonis Garcia Targeting September Return

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: As we inch closer and closer to September 1st — the day rosters expand — the more and more we wonder who will be on the Braves roster for the final months.  Will Ronald Acuna be in an Atlanta Braves uniform?  Will some of these “injured” positional players and pitchers return?  What’s going to happen?!  The anticipation is destroying me!!

Left-handed pitcher Ian Krol, who had a left oblique strain, is scheduled to return once the rosters expand as well as right-handed pitcher Luke Jackson (right shoulder strain).

It’s great to see that Camargo is healing up.  I saw he posted an Instagram live video walking around an aminal museum.  Hopefully, he’s ready to go here shortly…from the report below, it looks like he’d be out one more week.  That means he would have missed just under a month.  He was hurt on August 8.

"Braves’ infielders Johan Camargo and Adonis Garcia may return from the disabled list as early as September 5th.Both could begin rehab assignments in the minor leagues next before a return to expanded rosters. Garcia’s role remains unclear given his underwhelming performance and extended injuries this season.Camargo, however, was a key piece for Atlanta over the summer and may move Brandon Phillips out from his third base role."

Teheran finally wins again at home, Braves top Rockies 5-2

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Four months…4!! Since Julio Teheran won at home (SunTrust Park).  That’s just insane.  What’s even more insane is what we’ve all — and Julio — have been through over those four months.  Teheran, for some reason, has looked great away from SunTrust and then just notorious at home.

Think he found something?  Or think it was just his opponent?

Teheran has dominated the Rockies since he’s been in the league.  With the win on Friday, he improved to 5-1 in eight career games against them.  I surely hope Teheran found something because I still feel as though he can be a huge piece in this rotation moving forward.  Remember, he’s still only 26-years-old.

"Teheran won at home for the first time in four months, Matt Kemp and Kurt Suzuki hit home runs and the Atlanta Braves beat Chad Bettis and the Rockies 5-2 on Friday night.Teheran (8-11) snapped his streak of nine straight home losses, the longest in Atlanta history, as he limited Colorado to two runs and five hits with no walks in 7 1/3 innings.“He’s been tough on the Rockies for his entire career,” Colorado outfielder Carlos Gonzalez said. “He did a great job mixing his pitches.”"
