With a lead off double, Ender Inciarte has achieved immortality in the Braves record books! Inciarte now has 200 hits in a single season!

In only his 4th major league season, Ender Inciarte has placed himself in some tremendous company now that he has entered the 200-hit threshold with the Atlanta Braves! The last Atlanta Brave to achieve 200-hits in a single season was Marquis Grissom in 1997, ending that season with 207 hits.

Now, Inciarte has broken the 21-year drought of Brave baseball without a 200-hit player! Throughout Brave’s history, there have been 12 players to reach the 200-hit threshold while wearing a Braves jersey. Now that Inciarte has joined the group, he now makes it 13!

Here is that list of Braves’ hitters:

The last time anyone in the National League achieved the 200-hit mark was in 2009 – done by Ryan Braun (203), Ichiro Suzuki (225), Robinson Canó (204), and Derek Jeter (212). The last time anyone in Major League Baseball achieved this feat was 3 years ago in 2014 by Jose Altuve (225) and Michael Brantley (200).

Next: Perennial Flowers or just Annuals?

At the end of the 2017 season, there will be 3 players that have achieved the 200-hit mark: Charlie Blackmon of the Colorado Rockies, Jose Altuve of the Houston Astros, and Ender Inciarte of YOUR Atlanta Braves!
