Braves could find out details to investigation Monday

Oh boy, here we go.  Strap on your big boy pants and get ready for the announcement.  The MLB could release details to their investigation on the Atlanta Braves on Monday, November 20th.

Everything you’ve read so far could have been true, or could have been false.  Everything up until this point has been speculation.  We’re about the get the deets.

This shouldn’t be an exciting time at all for the Braves or the fan base, but it will be nice to get this behind us.  If we lose prospects, okay that will sting a little, but we’ll move on.  Our minor league system is still loaded.  If we don’t and just lose international money or future picks, okay I’m cool with that.

Obviously the big name we’ve all heard thrown around is Kevin Maitan.  He’s a top 10 prospect in the Braves system and it would suck to lose him.

Ken Rosenthal had reported that the “MLB hasn’t found any improprieties in his signing to this point, though that could change.”  Yes, that could have changed, but let’s hope not.  The MLB did meet again with former Special assistant Gordon Blakelely last week so something new could have came from that.

We’ve also heard names like 2017 41st overall pick Drew Waters, and Korean prospect Jihwan Bae.  Rumors of Atlanta getting penalties such as fines, loss of prospects, draft picks and international signing restrictions have been out there as well.  Pretty much every angle from the Boston Red Sox investigation a few years back.

Another words, no one knows.

What we do know, is what AJC’s David O’Brien tweeted out this morning.  He’s hearing that we’ll get the news on the investigation on Monday.

If you enjoy ruining your weekend in preparation for Monday, you’ll enjoy this tweet from Matt Powers.  He covers the Braves minor league system for Talking Chop.

Tried to warn you…Monday, could be a bad day for us…but on the positive we’ll finally be able to move on.
