Atlanta Braves outfielder Lane Adams pops the question
One Atlanta player seems to be making the most of his offseason, announcing a major life change via Twitter over the weekend.
Atlanta Braves outfielder Lane Adams and girlfriend Bailee Cartwright made it public on social media Sunday evening that they were getting hitched.
Adams, who played 85 games for the Atlanta club last season, split time between the big leagues and triple-A Gwinnett. He made his debut for the Royals back in 2014, playing in six games that season, but hadn’t been back to the majors until this past season.
The Oklahoma native signed with Atlanta in December of 2016 after opting for free agency while assigned to the Iowa Cubs in early November. He bounced back-and-forth between Atlanta and Gwinnett during the season, playing in 48 International League games.
Adams’ new fiance is apparently familiar with more than just the new diamond on her finger. It seems Lane won’t be the only athlete in the family, as Bailee played college softball at Northwestern State. According to her NWSU profile, Cartwright played softball and basketball at Moss Oak High School, lettering all four years in both sports.
Lane was quite a legend himself at nearby Red Oak High School, and also played on the diamond as well as the hardwood.
Adams finished his high school basketball career in Oklahoma as the fifth-highest scorer in the state’s history, but walked away from a scholarship at Missouri State University in favor of being selected in the 13th round of the 2009 draft by Kansas City.
Next: Good thing we get to keep this guy
Perhaps the new Adams family will produce a few super athlete children that we can all enjoy watching in the future.
