Update on the Atlanta Braves investigation, roster changes, and trades

Monday marked the deadline for finalizing the Atlanta Braves 40 man roster to protect players from being lost in the rule 5 draft. Late tonight we heard that the snail of MLB justice moves closer to the finish line.

I’ll do the last bit first to get it out of the way. Ben Badler writing for Baseball America tonight (not behind the paywall), reports that MLB “informed several Braves prospects” they’d be hearing from them a local representative on Tuesday, November 21st.

"“While few specifics have come out regarding what (sic) rules MLB has determined . . .  (rules were) violated and what sanctions the team will face . . .that MLB has called a meeting with the players . . .(means) details should emerge soon.”"

The report is literally two paragraphs and written hastily. I expect Terry McGuirk and Alex Anthopoulus in front the press quickly after the meetings are over.  It’s important to let the fans know what’s going on and talk about the future. Moving on. . .

Roster juggling

According to Roster Resource when this morning dawned, eighteen players in the Atlanta Braves system would be vulnerable if no moves were made.
