Top MLB prospect delivers the best gift during Christmas 2017

Top MLB prospect delivers one of the best gifts I’ve ever seen
I’ll start off by saying this prospect isn’t within the Atlanta Braves organization, but there is a connection. First baseman Pavin Smith is an Arizona Diamondbacks top prospect that was drafted 7th overall in the 2017 MLB Draft. What he did yesterday could have been the best thing I’ve seen ever within the MLB family.
Smith signed a $5,016,300 signing bonus after the DBacks drafted him and quickly jumped up their top prospect list. He is currently slotted #1 in their organization. The Braves had their chance to draft Smith with the #5 pick, but decided to go with RHP Kyle Wright…Atlanta has a pretty good first baseman that should be around a while — aka Freddie Freeman.
The former University of Virginia first baseman hit .318 in 51 games in low Single-A ball with an .816 OPS in 2017. The 21-year-old should move up the DBacks organizational ladder quickly.
Okay, back to Christmas
Smith posted a video on Twitter yesterday of his parents reading a letter. A little into the video, you start to realize it could be something very special. And it was. The letter was to tell his parents that he will be paying off their mortgage to their home.
You have to watch this for yourself, typing words doesn’t do it’s justice
Through the emotional one minute video, it puts into perspective what the holidays are really about. This video is circling the web and it has great reason to. Everyone should watch this and soak it in.
Parents, and the entire family, go through a lot as their children are growing up. When a child excels within spots, it’s great, but it’s also sacrificing. I feel as though most kids don’t realize this until later in life. Pavin Smith has realized this and lucky was able to giveback to his parents.
Braves great, Chipper Jones tweeted about this video this morning…
