Atlanta Braves need to go shopping on Monday… at Chick-fil-A

Friendly wagers are great fun… at least if you win.  But with every loss, there’s gotta be a payoff, and unfortunately, another Atlanta team wasn’t able to hold up their end.

The Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies made a deal on Friday… but not one of the trade variety.

Yes, it was all about the Falcons-Eagles tilt next door to Citizens Bank Park, held on Saturday.  And the Braves responded in kind:

The wager was accepted… though the Phillies didn’t actually commit anything for their part.

Unfortunately, of course, we now know the outcome… and that the Phillies could have promised the moon without concern about the possible repercussions…

Final. 15. 54. 10. 44

Oops.  Looks like the Braves were the ones fleeced in this deal.

So on the Chick-fil-a menu, there’s this convenient button to order delivery for catering orders, so that’s probably the easiest way for the Braves to handle their pay-up of the bet.

Personally, I would recommend including several of the chicken wraps – they’re pretty special, and that would help out those concerned about fried foods.

A couple gallons of sweet tea would be nice as well.

But if perhaps the Phillies want to double-down on their fondness for regional cuisine choices from outside their area code, they might want to root for a Vikings victory this afternoon – since the Twins might be willing to get in on the act as well.

Perhaps the Jucy Lucy (a hamburger with cheese on the inside)?  Or a Hotdish?  The description of this is “Take your leftovers, add some tater tots, and maybe a little cheese and tomato sauce or cream of mushroom soup.”

Other than that, it’s various Norwegian foods (the Krumkake is the best option), Pheasant in various forms, and … Spam.

On the other hand, maybe they should quit while they’re ahead.

Next: About time for Leo and Andruw

In the meantime, the Braves will have to wait until Monday to do their part of the payoff… Chick-fil-a, of course, is closed today.
