Braves up top on another chart…it’s fun to see this!

On Monday night, Baseball America released their 2018 organizational rankings and guess where our beloved Atlanta Braves are at?  If you said first, you won the prize!

Over the past few weeks, it’s been enjoyable to see the Braves farm team ranked high in charts as well as our prospects getting much love.  Ronald Acuna has been ranked as the number one prospect in the game in multiple prospect lists…MLB Pipeline needs to re-think their lists!

Though MLB Pipeline didn’t have Acuna ranked number one on their list, they did have eight Braves on their top 100 list.  The Padres and White Sox had seven prospects.  The Yankees, Phillies and Rays had six prospects.

Why not tally up another one for the good guys?

You never know a direction a website will go, but when I clicked on the article for the first time I had this feeling they wouldn’t rank the Braves number one.  BA is always a pretty solid representation of the minor league systems.  So “let’s go with what they say” I said as I clicked away.

Guess what?!  Braves are #1!

The Braves are followed by the New York Yankees, San Diego Padres, Chicago White Sox and the Tampa Bay Rays.

This will be the second year in a row that the Braves were ranked number one by Baseball America!

This article was fantastic.  I’m okay with every bit of it.  Baseball America also goes back to 2013 and lists out where each team ranked throughout the past five years.

1. Atlanta Braves
2017: 1 | 2016: 3 | 2015: 29 | 2014: 26 | 2013: 2

2. New York Yankees
2017: 3 | 2016: 16 | 2015: 19 | 2014: 18 | 2013: 11

3. San Diego Padres
2017: 9 | 2016: 25 | 2015: 14 | 2014: 6 | 2013: 15

4. Chicago White Sox
2017: 5 | 2016: 23 | 2015: 20 | 2014: 24 | 2013: 29

5. Tampa Bay Rays
2017: 11 | 2016: 13 | 2015: 17 | 2014: 20 | 2013: 4

If you’re curious about our division…the Philadelphia Phillies were ranked number sixth.  The Washington Nationals came in at number 15.  The Miami Marlins fell in at number 19.  And the New York Mets were number 27.

It’s funny to see the Mets so far down the list.  And the Marlins, even with their newly acquired talent from the Christian Yelich trade, still came in kinda low.

The other interesting note that stood out to me was the Houston Astros.  They were ranked number 10.  With the young talent they have in the MLB and their farm system, wow.

Also, the Yankees…ugh.  They’ve got so much talent in the minors and then their major league team looks extremely good.  Good luck competing AL East.
