Braves lineup for their fourth Spring Training game could look very familiar

For the Atlanta Braves fourth Spring Training match-up, manager Brian Snitker has filled out a lineup that could be very similar to an opening day look.

Braves stars Freddie Freeman, Ender Inciarte, Nick Markakis (ha), and Julio Teheran haven’t yet appeared in a Spring Training game in 2018…Monday will be their first appearance.

Atlanta is currently riding an 0-3 record, but it’s Spring Training…who really cares that much about records?  Sure, it’s nice to win ball games, but it’s still ST.  The main purpose is to get ready for the regular season and see the competition for the final position battles.

We do have many positional battles to watch through the next four weeks, so hopefully we can win a few ball games while doing so.

This lineup that Snitker put out for Monday’s game against the Washington Nationals also features top prospect Ronald Acuna.  He’s going to be swarming the outfield with Inciarte and Markakas as he gets his first chance at left field.  He’ll also bat seventh in the lineup.

Next: Braves players have cool handshake down pat

The Braves will play their first home game at the Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida today against the Washington Nationals.  First pitch is scheduled for 1:05pm ET.

The Braves will face right-handed pitcher Erick Fedde.  He was the Nationals 2014 1st round pick (18th overall) out of Nevada.  He started three games — all spot starts July 30, Aug 6 and Aug 27 — for the Nats in 2017 and held a 9.39 ERA.

How about we knock this 25-year-old around in the 1st inning!  Leadoff with a few singles and Freeman drives them in.  That sounds like a nice way to start a Monday!
