Braves win on and off the field on Friday!

On a snowy afternoon in Colorado, the Atlanta Braves took game one of the three game series with the Colorado Rockies.  The game on Friday was delayed two hours because of a snow storm that went through Coors Field, but at the end of the day, the Braves won 8-3.

What’s better than winning a ball game?  Winning on social media as well!

Friday was the Rockies 2018 home opener and they were extremely excited about their brand new scoreboard.  Yes, I concur, the scoreboard does look amazing.  Heck, it is 8,269 square feet with 6.8 million LEDs and SEVEN HUNDRED and EIGHTY FOUR 60-inch TV’s.  Think about that, holy smokes.

Just as pumped the Rockies were to put up runs on their new scoreboard, so were the Braves.  It was just that though, the Braves added a lot more runs on Friday than the Rockies!

So here it is, the Braves threw a little kick while the Rockies were already down…

Lol, so take it for what it’s worth.  The Braves could just be commenting on how beautiful the scoreboard looks and just happened to get a shot of the score in there OR it could be a slight dig.  Either way, I think it’s brilliant.

Braves social media team always does a great job with their account, but this is at another savage level!  Keep it up, boys.  I think we can all agree that we love it!

The other thing I question is the attendance of Friday’s afternoon game.  The scoreboard shows 48,216 people were in attendance.  That many people sat in the snow?  That many people were in the stands?

I checked MLB.com Gameday just to see what they showed and they’ve got the same number.  That’s a lot of people, great for them!  The broadcast didn’t really show that many, but okay.

Next: Braves catcher Kurt Suzuki is back!

Game two is scheduled for 8:10pm ET with Aníbal Sánchez taking the ball for the Braves and Chad Bettis going for the Rockies.  This will be Sánchez’s first start with the Braves as he’s currently filling in the rotation void for the injuries Luiz Gohara.  The righty will most likely get around five starts before Gohara is able to come back.  He will be used in the bullpen for long relief if he does well.
