The Atlanta Braves made a strategic move to use Touki as the 26th man for their doubleheader on Monday, which allows them to now bring him back before 10 days, normally a restriction on a player sent to the minors.

Just when you think nothing Ronald Acuna does can amaze and astound you anymore, he takes it to another level. Acuna led off the game with a home run, his third straight game leading off the game with a home run and the fifth game in a row hitting a home run.
He wasn’t done, however. After Anibal Sanchez struggled in the 3rd and 4th innings to let the Marlins back into the game, Acuna hit yet another home run to give him 8 home runs over the past 8 games, starting with his home run in Washington last Wednesday. Acuna finished 3-4 with 4 RBI.
Freddie Freeman and Charlie Culberson each had a home run, and Ender Inciarte had a double and a triple as every Atlanta Braves hitter from 1-8 in the lineup had at least one hit.
The win, coupled with a loss by the both teams chasing them, gave the Braves a 2 game lead over the Phillies in the NL East and an 8 game lead over the Nationals.
The Braves close out their home games with the Marlins this season tonight as Kevin Gausman takes the mound in a 7:35 PM ET game.

Brandon McCarthy will evaluate how his knee could possibly handle the bullpen over the next few weeks, but he announced on Tuesday that he will be retiring at the season’s end due to the continued issues with his knee.
