Atlanta Braves prospect Rio Ruiz struggled last year. He worked hard to turn that around this offseason and deserves a chance to win the opening day job at third base.

The Atlanta Braves are seeing their minor league clubs finish out their 2018 seasons. We’ll review each one as they finish!

The 2018 minor league regular season has come to a close for the Atlanta Braves, and while the won-loss record at some levels may not be what they’d like, the development of players for the future of the organization is what is the goal of the Braves. Let’s see how each team has done with that, focusing on the Gwinnett Stripers today.

While the last few seasons have seen the majority of the best prospects in the Atlanta Braves farm system congregated in the lower levels, this was the season to see a large part of that talent congregated in the upper levels. Gwinnett, in particular, had a seeming quick transit back and forth with the big league club as multiple prospects broke through and earned their way into the makeup of the Atlanta Braves.

The 2018 Gwinnett Stripers debuted their new team nickname, and they finished the year with a 70-69 record, finishing 9 games back in the South Division of the International League and 3 1/2 games back of a Wild Card spot.
