The Atlanta Braves Blogosphere: Gearing for Winter Meetings
Atlanta Braves fans have some incredible places to read about their favorite team. Once per week, we’ll try to bring you the best of what’s out there.
While we at Tomahawk Take would love for you to get all of your Atlanta Braves content directly from us, we know that’s not even feasible, let alone something we can enforce. There are incredible writers all over the Braves blogging world, and there’s plenty of space to encourage and promote one another as we cover our favorite squad!
This week, much of the focus is leading up to winter meetings. The first piece we’ll look at is from Grant McAuley’s new blog “Around the Big Leagues”. Grant takes a look at the pairing of the Seattle Mariners and Atlanta Braves for a possible Mitch Haniger deal and why it would seem to make sense for both clubs. Grant has just got his feet on the ground with Around the Big Leagues, so check out the site and give the podcast a listen as Grant is definitely one of the best in Braves country in breaking down the team.
On the subject of winter meetings, Kris Willis at Talking Chop has a quick news wrap up entering the winter meetings with an excellent link to a FAQ about the winter meetings themselves.
Over on Braves Reddit, LordCommander1000 put up a post reviewing players that fill the Atlanta Braves roster needs that are seldom mentioned in articles and trade discussions. He answers some questions in the comments section for more detail as to why he chose who he chose.

Over at ATL All Day, Kit Anderson takes a look at whether it’s now the time for the Atlanta Braves to trade veteran starting pitcher Julio Teheran. His conclusion may surprise you!
On the subject of Teheran, Rob Copenhaver at Braves Journal has undertaken reviewing and re-working the “44 Greatest Atlanta Braves” post that was one of the posts that made Braves Journal notable back in its early days before Mac Thomason’s unfortunate passing. Rob has Teheran as the #26 Atlanta Braves player of all-time, and he makes a darned good argument for why Julio belongs in that spot.
Our friends at Talking Chop close out the group for this week with a piece from Sam Meridith on what the next step for Mike Foltynewicz may be. Sam does a great job going through Folty’s 2018 season and the changes made and what there is to expect in 2019.
That’s a wrap for this week. If you see a great article elsewhere on the Atlanta Braves blogosphere that you think would be excellent for this weekly piece, feel free to fire it off to @biggentleben on Twitter!
