What will it take for some team to say ‘yes’ to get J.T. Realmuto traded?  Braves are still holding their cards; unwilling yet to play the best of those.

As we have been tracking this saga the entire off-season, it seems that one thing is entirely clear:  the Atlanta Braves want to trade for J.T. Realmuto.

In every scenario, virtually every tweet, every update… the Braves are still right there in the mix, but quietly waiting.

This is what we’ve been waiting for throughout the entire rebuild period:  the Braves have accumulated a king’s ransom of prospects – chiefly in pitching – and they are now poised to make a deal that should improve their club at the major league level “veryclose” to a point at which they can compete for title… and not just a divisional crown.

Would Realmuto be the last piece?  In all honesty, probably not… but if he can be added, Alex Anthopoulos would then be at the point at which he could go ‘all in’… whether that mean a big starter or reliever (Kimbrel) to round out a World Series caliber roster.

But with 4 imposing bats in the lineup, this club could not only go toe-to-toe with just about anyone, they could also have answers for the formidable pitching opposition they will face repeatedly within their own division.

That’s the goal… that’s the purpose behind this.  You may agree or disagree with the team’s approach, but that has been the focus for the entire off-season:  Realmuto or bust… and that time appears to be getting very close, one way or another.

And now we have a hint on the cost.
