The Atlanta Braves are potentially holding funds for a big midseason upgrade. Who could they target?

As we all have surely heard by now, the Atlanta Braves front office loves flexibility and is leaning toward keeping all the money they have to spend until the trade deadline possibly? I sure hope so anyway. So let’s look at 10 possible players that could be on the move this summer that could catch the Braves eye.

Infielders

1. Ketel Marte, Arizona Diamondbacks

Starting off this list is admittedly probably the least appealing name you will see on this list. However, if Charlie Culberson is struggling or the bench needs a little help, the Braves could look and see if the Diamondbacks would be willing to move the versatile infielder, who has in the past played some outfield as well.

2. Starlin Castro, Miami Marlins

Many may be still surprised to see Castro is still on the Marlins roster as the assumption was he would be moved after being acquired the mega Stanton deal last winter. I could see the Braves maybe taking a chance on Castro if Swanson is hurt or is not helping the team with the bat. Castro has a team option after this year so he could be a rental if the Braves go that route.

There are certainly other infield options the Atlanta Braves could look at, but with the infield mostly set, the focus for hitters will more likely be on outfielders…
