Here we give a preview of the National League East going into the 2019 season with Opening Day just a couple of days away.

The National League East is shaping up to be one of the best divisions in all of Major League Baseball in 2019.

Every team in the National League East, except the Miami Marlins, are looking to make the playoffs this season. That should make this a very entertaining season in the East and for the Atlanta Braves.

The Braves won the National League East in 2018 with a record of 90-72 finishing eight games ahead of the Washington Nationals. That was the 13th time the Braves have won the National League East since joining the division in 1994, but just their first time since 2013.

As good as the National League East is projected to be in 2019, they were one of the worst divisions in baseball last year.

That shouldn’t be the case in 2019 with all of the moves that were made within the division, which we will get to later.

Before 2018, the Washington Nationals had won the division the previous two seasons and four of the last seven.

The New York Mets won it in 2015 and made it to the World Series where they lost to the Kansas City Royals.

Philadelphia owned the National League East winning it every year from 2007-2011. They went to back-to-back World Series in 2008 and 2009, and they are the last National League East team to win the World Series with their 2008 title.

With all of the talent in the division this year, the winner of the National League East in 2019 has a great chance of reaching the World Series.
