After a miserable start to the year in Philadelphia, the Atlanta Braves are suddenly right at home in SunTrust Park. The come-from-behind 6-4 victory over the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday night gave the Braves their first series win of the 2019 season.

It was a game that featured a bit of everything – the pitching ranging from solid to frustrating, the offense clutch and powerful, and the defense strong. This much is certain: the Atlanta Braves snatched a victory from the jaws of defeat, as the outcome hung in the balance until Arodys Vizcaino’s final strikeout.

The Braves will go for a series sweep over the Cubbies on Thursday night.

As for Wednesday’s thriller, there was a lot to digest after the Braves pulled out the “W”, in a game that saw the lead change four times.

Facing lefty Jon Lester was a tall task, and while the Atlanta lineup didn’t necessarily light him up, they did push the big southpaw to labor through his outing, taking a 2-1 lead to the sixth after a couple of homers from Dansby Swanson and Ozzie Albies.

Julio Teheran was stingy in his second start as he replicated his seven-strikeout performance from Opening Day, though when he exited after the fifth inning, this once again proved to be a bullpen-taxing night.

It was in the late innings that the Braves would find their much-needed heroics in the form of Johan Camargo, who delivered so many times in similar situations a year ago.

Here’s three takeaways from the thrilling triumph over Chicago’s North-siders.
