After another week of baseball, we are going to shuffle our weekly MLB Power Rankings up a little bit. Like last week, let’s start with the top 10.

Our Atlanta Braves had an up-and-down week in getting swept by a supposedly average Diamondbacks team, and then taking 2 of 3 in unusual fashion against the (then!) AL Central-leading Cleveland Indians.

Here’s how things have shaken up over the past week.

1. Los Angeles Dodgers-

The Dodgers leap up to number 1 this week as they won 3 out of 4 versus Milwaukee and also swept the Reds. It looks as if Clayton Kershaw‘s return has injected life back into the Dodgers.

2. Houston Astros-

The Astros stumbled a bit to close out the weekend after a long winning streak. The Astros should still be World Series favorites though.

3. Tampa Bay Rays-

Tampa was cruising right along until they ran into a now hot Red Sox team this weekend. Will be interesting to see where Tampa goes now.

4. Minnesota Twins-

The Twins are still in first place in the AL Central surprisingly to some. They start a big series against the Astros on Monday night. Will be a good test for the young team.

5. Pittsburgh Pirates-

Pittsburgh is feasting on inferior competition, but give them credit as you have to win the games you’re supposed too. Pittsburgh is also dealing with a rash of injuries making the good start more impressive, but their starting pitching has been unbelievable.

6. St. Louis Cardinals-

The offense is carrying the Cardinals so far in the 2019 season. That includes Marcell Ozuna who is starting to really heat up at the plate.

7. Seattle Mariners-

The home-run-happy Mariners closed out the weekend by prolonging the problems nagging the Angels. Despite the rash of losses before that series, the Mariners remain in first.

8. Texas Rangers-

Part of the Rangers good start is two key contributors to the teams good fortunes so far. Joey Gallo is actually hitting .281 and Mike Minor has pitched extremely well so far. Over the next few weeks, we should see if Texas is legit.

9. Milwaukee Brewers-

The Brew Crew will still play a huge role come October probably, but losing 4 out of your last 5 will drop you in the rankings, especially 3 out of 4 against the Dodgers.

10. Philadelphia Phillies-

The Phillies are in first place in the NL East still, but have yet to put together a 3 game winning streak since winning their first 4 to start off the year.
