The month of April was about as up-and-down as one could be for the Atlanta Braves as they finished with a 14-15 record.

The Atlanta Braves started the season on the road in Philadelphia where it looked like all hope was gone after three embarrassing games.

But then things settled down and they looked more like the team of 2018 as they won seven of their next eight games.

However, looking back, they happened to catch the Cubs and Rockies at just the right time. The Cubs got off to a very slow start, and the Rockies had several key players out with injuries.

We saw a much different Rockies team later in the month, and they showed just how deadly that lineup can be when healthy.

After splitting a four-game set with the New York Mets, things went off the rails again as the Braves were swept at home by the Arizona Diamondbacks and would go on to lose eight-of-11.

Looking at the Braves schedule from March/April now, the Braves only played two teams who have a losing record in the Rockies and Reds. And we all know the Rockies will change that pretty quickly.

Things definitely could have gone better in the first month of the season, but now we see they actually played a pretty difficult schedule.

At the same time, the Atlanta Braves have weathered the storm and are just 2 games back in the NL East.

Fortunately, no one else in the division has been playing great baseball to start the season.

Now let’s look at some of the stats from the first month.
