Coming off a four-game series split at home against the San Diego Padres, the Atlanta Braves head to Miami to play the Marlins.

The Atlanta Braves continue to hover around .500 and have yet to look like the team who won the NL East in 2018.

We talked earlier this week about the upcoming schedule in May, and the Braves have to take advantage of this series against the Marlins.

Miami is the only team in all of Major League Baseball that doesn’t have double-digit wins right now, and I would love for that to remain after the weekend.

The Atlanta Braves could use an easy weekend to hopefully get the offense rolling and gain some momentum with that daunting schedule ahead.

But as we saw when we played the Marlins earlier this year, they aren’t just going to roll over. Their young starters can pitch and they have some veteran bats in the lineup.

Still, this needs to be at the very least an easy series win.

Miami is 25th in the league with a .228 average and they’re last in the league in runs scored. They also are 29th in the league with just 23 home runs playing in that huge ballpark in Miami.

Their pitching staff ranks just ahead of Atlanta with a 4.62 ERA, but their starters have been much better with a 4.23 ERA.

Hopefully our hitters will go back to being patient and see if we can get their starters out of the game early as Miami has one of the worst bullpens in baseball.

But the biggest storyline coming into this series will be the matchup between Ronald Acuna Jr. and Jose Urena.

I don’t think it will get heated, but I sure hope it fires up the Atlanta Braves — and Acuna in particular.
