After taking two-of-three from Milwaukee over the weekend, the Atlanta Braves are 11-7 in the month of May as they head to San Francisco for a four-game series with the Giants.

If there was ever a time for the Atlanta Braves to separate themselves from the National League East, their upcoming series against the Giants is a good place to start.

Over the next seven series, the Braves’ opponents have a combined record of 138-200 (as of Sunday morning), with three of those series coming against the three worst teams in the NL: the Marlins, the Nationals (hahahaha), and the Giants.

Atlanta has fared relatively well at AT&T Park (now Oracle Park — weird, I know) over the past three years going a combined 5-4, but three of those wins came last year when the road team swept the home team in the matchup.

Against the Giants over the past three years, the Braves are 10-10.

Freddie Freeman and Brian McCann have excelled at Oracle Park over their careers.

Freeman has a .274 average with seven home runs and 17 RBI, while McCann has hit .322 with four homers and 17 RBI.

The only other Braves regulars who have extended at-bats in San Francisco are Nick Markakis (.236) and Tyler Flowers (.231).

The Atlanta Braves three best starting pitchers recently (Mike Soroka, Max Fried, and Julio Teheran) are all throwing in the series, while the Giants are trying to makeshift their rotation.

All-in-all, this should be a series win for the Atlanta Braves. Anything short should be considered a disappointment.

Here are the pitching matchups:
