We are about 1 week from the official halfway point of the season and things are starting to shake up in our MLB Power Rankings where the Atlanta Braves are soaring.

The Atlanta Braves jumped high in the MLB Power Rankings this week.

Let’s take a look at where they rank among the rest of Major League Baseball.

1. Houston Astros

Ranking the Astros and Dodgers is basically 1A and 1B at this point. They are clearly the two teams who would be the favorites going into the playoffs at this point.

2. Los Angeles Dodgers

Cant say much else about Hi-Jyun Ryu at this point. He is pitching lights out and is the current favorite to take home the NL Cy Young Award.

3. Minnesota Twins

Like most teams, the Twins will most likely seek to upgrade the bullpen in July. They blew a late lead against the Royals Sunday to miss out on a series sweep. With that being said, they still hold a 10-game lead in the AL Central.

4. New York Yankees

The rich get richer. The Yankees already with a deep powerful lineup go out and trade for Edwin Encarnacion who leads the AL in home runs at the moment by 1 over new teammate Gary Sanchez. Oh, and Giancarlo Stanton is slated to return Tuesday.

5. Atlanta Braves

The biggest weekend of the year so far was a success for the Atlanta Braves as the pounded the ball all over the Phillies pitching. If not for a blown save Saturday, the Atlanta Braves would have swept them. All in all though, things are looking up for the Atlanta Braves.

6. Tampa Bay Rays

The little team that can is staying right there with the Yankees. Thanks in part to Brandon Lowe who is having himself quite a year at the plate.

7. Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers continue to lead the NL Central in what is looking to become a three-team race at this point. The Brewers see a lot of the Reds and Pirates in the next few weeks so they will look to pad that division lead.

8. Chicago Cubs

Tough week for the Cubs as they lost 2 out of 3 to the Rockies and 3 out of 4 to the Dodgers. Anthony Rizzo, on the bright side, is starting to really heat up at the plate, however.

9. Boston Red Sox

After losing 5 of 6, the Red Sox have now won 5 in a row. They feasted on the Orioles and climbed back into the AL East Race. They start a big series versus Minnesota on Monday.

10. Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies starting pitching right now is a mess. The Atlanta Braves clobbered them this past weekend and the Phillies now find themselves out of first and looking up at the Braves.
