The month of June has been great for the Atlanta Braves, and they hope to continue that run against the Washington Nationals this weekend.

This month the Atlanta Braves have lost just four games and they’ve won their past four series, including two sweeps.

Atlanta has scored the most runs in all of baseball in the month of June with 133 runs in 18 games (7.4 runs per game).

Also in the month of June, they are second in hits (190), second in doubles (44), fourth in triples (6), first in home runs (39), first in RBI (128), fifth in walks (70), second in average (.292), first in OBP (.371), first in SLG (.558), and first in OPS (.929).

It has really been a lot of fun watching this team play over the past couple of weeks, and this offense is clicking 1-8.

But the Atlanta Braves aren’t the only team catching fire in June.

The Washington Nationals are 11-5 this month and have moved into third place in the NL East and are just four games behind the Phillies (with a game between the two left to be played on Thursday night).

While the Atlanta Braves have got it done on offense, the Nationals pitching staff has got it going in June. They have the third-best ERA this month at 3.06, the third best WHIP at 1.12, and the fourth best BAA at .223.

The good news for the Braves is that they’ll miss Max Scherzer and Patrick Corbin in this series.

These two NL East rivals have only played twice this season and the Nats embarrassed the Braves at SunTrust. Hopefully, the Atlanta Braves can get some payback in Washington this weekend with possibly their three best pitchers taking the mound.
