Welcome to July. The month in which MLB will host the All Star Game and the only trade deadline in the season takes place. Let’s see where the Atlanta Braves stack up against the rest of the league in our weekly MLB Power Rankings

1. New York Yankees

The Bronx Bombers are in the #1 spot this week. They have won 5 in a row and mashed on the Red Sox over in London. Only blemish is Giancarlo Stanton is already back out for a while.

2. Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers have 3 starting pitchers heading to Cleveland for the All Star Game and that includes the NL starter in Hyun-Jin Ryu. The Dodgers really have no weak spots except maybe the bullpen before Kenley Jansen?

3. Houston Astros

Before sweeping the Mariners this weekend, the Astros were scuffling. Once it was almost a guarantee they would win the West, now the Rangers and A’s are charging hard after them.

4. Atlanta Braves

A sweep would have been nice over the Mets but you still can’t complain about much since the month of June was superb for the Braves. Look for them to upgrade the bullpen this month if possible.

5. Minnesota Twins

Much like the Astros, the Twins are seeing the division lead shrinking slightly over the Indians. Another tough break for the team as Eddie Rosario hit the IL over the weekend with an ankle injury.

6. Tampa Bay Rays

What a debut for the next 2 way star (hopefully) Brendan McKay. He took a perfecto into the 6th Saturday in his Major League debut.

7. Milwaukee Brewers

The Brew Crew has been slumping for the past few weeks and yet, still find themselves tied for the division lead. The all star break seems to be coming at the perfect time for them.

8. Chicago Cubs

Craig Kimbrel is officially installed as the teams closer now and Cubs faithful hope that his addition will shore up the bullpen which – like for most teams – has been a glaring problem this season so far.

9. Philadelphia Phillies

What is it about the Marlins the Phillies cant figure out? In the last two weekends, they are 1-5 against the Fish. Hey, us Braves fans will gladly take it.

10. Cleveland Indians

Back to back 13-0 losses to Baltimore certainly doesn’t look good, but for the most part the Indians resurgence the past few weeks is due largely to the teams starting pitching regaining its form.
