Atlanta Braves fans are ready for a possible move. There have been rumors of Madison Bumgarner, Zach Wheeler and now, a pitcher from the Blue Jays.

Sometime yesterday evening, a rumor trickled up from the depths of Twitter and infiltrated its way onto Atlanta Braves’ fans Twitter accounts.

Marcus Stroman was on the verge of being traded to the Atlanta Braves for Ender Inciarte, Drew Waters, and Ian Anderson. Two of our most ‘untouchable’ prospects were potentially on the way to Canada.

Of course, it was tweeted by a fake account. Then, another account chimed in, stating that their sources had it as well. And then, a few observations from fans helped fuel the fire.

Let’s play along with a little of the noise that was made Wednesday night on social media. It was interesting, to say the least. And it raised questions.

Stroman apparently removed the Toronto Blue Jays from his Twitter profile, and also, unfollowed them on Instagram. While I don’t keep tabs on his social media accounts, the Blue Jays are not present in his Twitter profile, and he does not follow the team on Instagram. Those are the facts I can confirm.

The only heavyweight reporter that chimed in was Jon Heyman, who said the rumors were a ‘total fabrication,’ according to his sources.

There is a history of the Atlanta Braves being linked to Stroman. Last year, Jon Morosi reported that the Bravos were interested in the 28-year-old righty. There’s also a history between our general manager Alex Anthopoulos and Stroman. Of course, AA was the general manager in Toronto for 11 seasons.
