It was not a very encouraging final week for the Atlanta Braves. We’ll look at their 3 biggest concerns heading into the postseason.

The Atlanta Braves appear to be limping into the postseason after getting swept by the New York Mets and suffering a rash of injuries.

We certainly shouldn’t put too much stock in the results this past week after the Atlanta Braves clinched the division.

And the Braves themselves don’t seem to be too concerned about it.

But that doesn’t mean there aren’t some very real concerns heading into the NLDS against the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday.

And before anyone makes a comment about me only being negative, we’ve already written up an article on why the Braves can win the World Series.

However, for now, we are going to focus on the negatives.

Going into the final week my biggest concerns were Dansby Swanson, Austin Riley, and Ender Inciarte.

Those three situations seem to have already worked themselves out.

After picking up 8 hits in his last four games, Dansby Swanson appears to have his groove back.

I’m not even sure Austin Riley makes the postseason roster at this point, and we know Ender Inciarte won’t be on the NLDS roster.

And again, while you don’t want to get caught up in the results of meaningless games, the Braves really didn’t play inspired baseball down the stretch.

They lost five of their last six games and only won one of their last four series with a two-game split mixed in.

The Atlanta Braves talked about getting locked in over the weekend by playing their regulars, and they still couldn’t beat the Mets.

While it would have been nice to see them get a win or two over the Mets — especially with how annoyingly happy the Mets were about it — it still means nothing.

Unfortunately, some much bigger concerns came up over the weekend that has me worried as we get ready for the playoffs.
