The Atlanta Braves have been extremely active early in the off season. With many holes still left to fill, is left field one of them?

The Atlanta Braves have kicked the Hot Stove off with… well, Alex Anthopoulos has pretty much kicked the hot stove over. Just days in to free agency and the Braves have secured one of the top bullpens (on paper) in the game. While fans are ecstatic to see the spending early on, it does raise a few concerns regarding how much money is left to fill the obvious holes.

By now we all know about the needs at starting pitching, third base, and catcher. One position I frequently hear addressed is left field (assuming the Braves go ahead with their plans of making Acuna the permanent right fielder).

With the Braves reportedly showing interest in Marcell Ozuna, the call for a big addition to the outfield is sounding like the horn of Gondor. Fans are already envisioning a big bat and a hefty contract. Can’t you envision Marcell Ozuna and Ronald Acuna high fiving after an inning-ending catch? How about Nicholas Castellanos making up for an error by crushing a three-run jack?

Well, for those of you who think the Braves are in need of a free agent outfielder, I beg to differ. I’m begging to have a different opinion. We are all on the same team, rooting for the same thing. I know many folks are not too keen on the tag team of Adam Duvall and Nick Markakis in left field, but here is my case for sticking with the tandem. What do we call them, by the way? Mar-vall? Du-Kakis?

Follow me on the journey through the top three reasons the duo only known to the villagers as “Du-Kakis” (I’m making this happen) is the right fit in left field for the 2020 Atlanta Braves.
