There is currently a power void in the Atlanta Braves lineup and even with Anthony  Rendon now off the board, there are still some options in free agency.

The price and years for Josh Donaldson might get too rich for the Atlanta Braves’ blood. And in that case, they will have to look elsewhere for a power bat.

There have been reports over the past week the Braves prefer to fill that hole in free agency rather than trades. The organization seems to value prospects and I can’t really blame them.

It would seem reasonable to think the Braves have around $20 million to spend, so the options still available will most likely fit under that umbrella.

While it’s unlikely, it’s not inconceivable the Braves could add a free agent bat at both third base and in the outfield to further lengthen the lineup.

As things currently stand, the outfield consists of Nick Markakis and Adam Duvall in left field, Ender Inciarte in center field, and Ronald Acuna Jr. in right field.

At third base, it would either be Austin Riley or Johan Camargo.

General Manager Alex Anthopoulos has made it clear an upgrade at third base is what the Braves are pursuing most, but also has not ruled out finding a power bat in the outfield, moving Markakis to the bench and possibly non-tendering Duvall.

The following three slides have the top five free agent power bats available. While each has flaws—mostly on the defensive end—they can hit the ball out of the ballpark and that’s what this team needs.
