These Atlanta Braves players could be traded during the season
We take a look at a few Atlanta Braves players who could become expendable and traded during the upcoming 2020 season.
As the Atlanta Braves prepare for the upcoming 2020 season, I think we all know that at some point a big move or two will have to be made if this team is going to win it’s third straight NL East title and compete for a World Series championship.
Not that the team as currently constructed isn’t good enough, but an injury or regression from a player is bound to happen over the course of a season prompting a big move.
And I still believe the Braves need another top of the rotation starter, especially if Cole Hamels continues to battle injuries.
A lot of these names I’m going to mention are pretty obvious trade candidates that we’ve talked about before. But we’ll go deeper into why they’ll become expendable during the season.
But let’s start by looking at who won’t be traded.
I think that list safely includes Freddie Freeman, Ronald Acuna Jr., Ozzie Albies, Mike Soroka, Marcell Ozuna, Cole Hamels, and Max Fried.
If things went really bad and the Braves were suddenly sellers at the deadline, then Ozuna and Hamels would become expendable. But this is spring training and we’re thinking optimistically and focused on adding players to win a championship.
And I’m not really focussing on the prospects here. I’ll write a couple of articles when the season starts talking about prospects who could be traded and who are expendable.
Outside of the seven players I mentioned, I think just about anyone on the roster could be moved. But here are the ones that are most likely to be moved.
