Next 30 — Outfielders

Outfielders (5): Cristian Pache, Drew Waters, Peter O’Brien, Rafael Ortega, and Trey (Terone) Harris.

This isn’t a big group of players but it might be the most exciting list to talk about. Obviously, a lot of Braves fans were hoping we might see the debut of Pache this season.

That still could very well be the case. But he’s not really going to get those Triple-A reps that he needs to prove he’s ready for that jump and I’m not sure you can throw a young kid into the middle of a postseason race in a short 60-game season.

The same can be said for Waters who I think is behind Pache at this point and needs a lot more reps at Triple-A after a rough spring training 1.0.

I had no idea Trey changed his name to Terone, but that’s what it says on the Braves roster (his Twitter still says Trey, so I don’t know).

But he’s become one of my favorite Braves prospects and I hope he gets to continue to workout at Gwinnett and get some more reps.

Ortega and O’Brien are just veteran depth guys that could be used if needed.

I just hope Pache, Waters, and Harris get as many reps as they can in Gwinnett so as to not hamper their development from no Minor League season in 2020.
