20. San Francisco Giants

Same story, different year. The mediocre play the team has had will not let the idea of a rebuild come into the minds of the Giants front office. They have a couple pieces they could probably have moved but again, nothing.

19. Miami Marlins

Good for the Marlins. Despite most people still not believing in them, they went out at the deadline and tried going for it as they acquired Starling Marte. They did ship off Jonathan Villar but acquired a good prospect back in return.

18. Colorado Rockies

The West will not be won by Colorado but the additional wild card spots is there for the taking even though this team has played horrible the past few weeks. Perhaps that is why they went out and traded for Kevin Pillar and Mychal Givens.

17. Detroit Tigers

We are past the halfway point of the season and yet the Detroit Tigers are still sitting there exactly at the .500 mark. 2020 is a crazy year.

16. Cincinnati Reds

I know the results have not been there yet, but I have liked almost all the moves the Reds have made over the last 12 months. That included yesterdays with the acquisition of Archie Bradley and Brian Goodwin from the Angels.

15. Milwaukee Brewers

It’s kind of a small miracle the Brewers are still in it this far in the season when you look and see that the teams best batting average belongs to Keston Huira and his average sits at a terrible .229.

14. St. Louis Cardinals

It is fitting that three NL Central teams sit in a row right here in the middle of these standings as the NL Central is just that…very mediocre.

13. Philadelphia Phillies

For the Atlanta Braves sake, let’s hope that the Phillies bullpen continues to falter down the stretch as they are the team that is most dangerous of taking the division from us just like I predicted before the season.

12. Houston Astros

Starting to play better ball, the Astros are quietly sneaking back up on the A’s. They sat pat at the deadline and rightfully so as they soon hope to get back Justin Verlander and Alex Bregman from the IL.

11. Toronto Blue Jays

Another up and coming team who’s deadline moves I loved. They were able to acquire Villar as mentioned earlier, but also added to the rotation with Robbie Ray and Ross Stripling who are both better than they have shown this season so far.
