What a difference a night can make for the Atlanta Braves.

I am pretty sure the Baltimore Orioles would like a few of those runs they poured on the Atlanta Braves on Monday back after the Atlanta Braves bounced back on Tuesday and defeated the Baltimore Orioles by a final score of 5-1.

If you take away the fact that the opponent was the Orioles, it kind of felt like a playoff game as you could tell midway through the game a couple of runs might be enough and that pitching was going to be huge.

That being said, one would think that would not play into the Atlanta Braves favor with the way things have been going lately, but Braves starter Huascar Ynoa was more than ready for the task Tuesday as he threw four scoreless innings before exiting due to a lower back injury.

The most important stat line of his night very well might be the zero in his walks line.

The Atlanta Braves bullpen kept the momentum going as they tossed five scoreless innings to complete the shutout. Hopefully, with our top starters coming back, this will be more like the norm than what we have seen lately.

On the other side, it was just another September night at the old ballpark for Adam Duvall who hit his 10th home run of the month already. That ties the club record for the most home runs in the month of September… and obviously we still have a week and a half to go.

The other big bat of the night — and honestly for the month of September — was and is Freddie Freeman. He added a couple more RBI’s and a couple more hits and extra bases hits at that.

In what has become an annual tradition, Freddie should be right in the middle of the MVP talk, but is playing about 8th fiddle in the media. He is taken for granted in the baseball world. However, we will have more about his MVP campaign tomorrow.

With the win and the Miami loss, the Atlanta Braves division lead is back up to 3.5 games with 11 days remaining on the schedule. Kind of amazing with all the adversity this team has had to endure over the shortened season.

So the rubber match of this series will be Wednesday evening when Cole Hamels will make his long-anticipated Atlanta Braves debut.

Next. No easy days. dark
