Ian Anderson and the Atlanta Braves set out to take care of business and win the final game of their 4-game set against the Marlins.

On a rainy night, the Atlanta Braves sought to take the series finale against their NL East rival.

Things didn’t go the Braves way as Miami found a way to salvage one game and beat Atlanta by a final score of 4-2.

Ian Anderson faced off against Pablo Lopez and it was a nice pitchers duel for the first few innings. Lopez was able to locate well all night and kept Atlanta off the board until the bullpen came in.

Much of the same was true for Anderson as he had traffic on the bases but was able to work out of any trouble he found himself in pretty easily.

Unfortunately, Miami would score 3 unearned runs off of Ian in the sixth inning before all was said and done.

Brian Anderson shattered his bat and causing Adeiny Hechavarria to drop the ball for an error as it hurtled towards him.

Garrett Cooper singled but left runners at first and third. Matt Joyce and Miguel Rojas each struck out. However, Chad Wallach laced a single to right field to drive in Anderson. John Berti hit a double down the line that ultimately knocked Anderson out of the game.

The only other run scored by Miami was a solo homer by Jesus Aguilar while A.J. Minter was on the mound for Atlanta.

That sixth inning was a bit of tough luck for Anderson but all things considered, it was a good outing and gave me confidence sending him out in a playoff setting. Ian proved to fans and himself that he’s capable of pitching in big situations and working his way out of trouble.

Atlanta had the bases loaded at one point but were unable to score more than 2 runs in the inning.

Dansby Swanson singled in the bottom of the 8th to pull the Braves within two runs. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to push themselves past Miami and clinch the #2 seed in the postseason.

While that was disappointing, it was nice to learn that the Atlanta Braves continued to fight back until the last out. As long as this team has outs, they are going to find some way to get themselves into the game.

It was a valiant effort but Atlanta will have to turn to Boston to earn that #2 seed clinching game.

Next. Will the Braves face the Reds in round 1?. dark

Boston comes in off of a disappointing season looking for anything positive. However, they run into the buzzsaw that is the Atlanta Braves in 2020.

Atlanta will look to take care of business and cruise into their first playoff series next Wednesday. Get yourselves ready Braves fans! It’s going to be a great postseason.
