The Atlanta Braves should have plenty of bulletin board material going into the 2020 postseason with a lot of the experts not giving them a chance.

All the Atlanta Braves have heard for the past few weeks is how dangerous the Cincinnati Reds are and how they hopefully don’t match-up with them in the postseason.

Well, that has become the reality as Atlanta will face one of the hottest teams in baseball in the Wild Card round of the 2020 postseason starting on Wednesday.

There is so much hype surrounding this Reds teams that a lot of people are picking them to upset the second-seeded Braves in the first round.

Sixteen of the 30 MLB experts at ESPN picked the Cincinnati to advance past Atlanta in the first round, and it certainly feels like many consider the Reds to be the favorites.

Eleven experts picked the Reds to win in the NLDS, while nine picked the Braves. And then only one expert picked the Braves to reach the World Series, while two picked the Reds, three picked the Padres, and the rest picked the Dodgers.

Obviously, the Dodgers are heavy favorites to win the NL crown as well as the World Series, so the Braves have a tough road ahead of them.

But they’ve done a great job in the past of playing the underdog role. Hardly anyone picked them to win the NL East the past three years and they’ve done that.

Now, despite winning the third-most games in the NL and being the two-seed, a lot of people are doubting them against the Reds in the Wild Card round.

The Reds are certainly a formidable opponent with their great starting pitching, and they’re a team that many thought would win the NL Central when the season began.

But their pitching staff has yet to run up against an offense like the one Atlanta will throw at them, and I certainly wouldn’t count Brian Snitker and his guys out.
