We take a look at the Atlanta Braves postseason betting odds and predictions for the upcoming 2020 MLB Postseason starting on Tuesday.

Playoff baseball is upon us! With 16 teams vying for the World Series crown it’s sure to be a wild ride filled with upsets and surprising contenders. We’re going to be looking at the Atlanta Braves chances against the field this year according to oddsmakers and see where we stand.

Odds explained: If you’re not familiar with betting odds you might ask what does +1000 odds mean? It means for every $100 you bet, your return would be $1,000. If the odds are +2000 a $100 bet would win you $2,000 if your wager hits.

Wild Card Series Odds: -137

Despite being the 2nd seed in the National League the Braves drew one of the toughest 1st round matchups in the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds started the year as a popular sleeper pick for NL contenders and they carry that stigma into the playoffs. Facing Trevor Bauer, Luis Castillo, and Sonny Gray is not a fun way to start the postseason for the Braves. ESPN experts seem to think the same as 16 out of 30 picked the Reds to upset the Braves.

When the Reds head into Cobb County, Max Fried will take the mound for the Braves in his first playoff start. Fried was a perfect 7-0 this season with a 2.25 ERA. As a team, the Reds batted a less than stellar .196 against lefties this year.

National League Championship Odds: +550

The Braves currently sit with the 3rd best odds to come out of the National League behind the LA Dodgers and the San Diego Padres. If the Braves are able to get past the Reds in the wildcard round they will face the winner of the Cubs and Marlins series, which should be an easier series for them. It seems as though on the other side of the bracket there’s a collision course between the Dodgers and Padres. The NLCS would likely be a matchup between the Braves and one of the two NL West squads.

World Series Odds: +1100

The Braves enter the playoffs with the 7th best odds of taking home a World Series Title. Should Atlanta make it that far, according to the oddsmakers, they would be running into either the Yankees or the Tampa Bay Rays who are both big favorites to come out of the American League at +280 and +300, respectively.

World Series Prediction – Rays vs Braves: +2500

I’m going with the Tampa Bay Rays to face off against the Braves for my World Series matchup prediction. The Rays won the AL East in dominant fashion despite the Yankees being the heavy favorites in the preseason, and I’m thinking they run through the AL bracket here in the same manner. In that same ESPN expert prediction article mentioned earlier, 15 out of the 30 picked the Rays to advance to the World Series.

The Braves seem like they are being counted out amongst most experts as far as World Series contenders.

Sure, there’s a lot of question marks surrounding the pitching staff but this offense is as good as any in the league. With two MVP frontrunners in Freddie Freeman and Marcell Ozuna along with Ronald and Ozzie this lineup is ridiculously talented and shouldn’t be discounted.
