We discuss a couple of recent news items for the Atlanta Braves — mostly the losses in the front office to the Los Angeles Angels.

As we thought, there hasn’t been a ton of transaction news for the Atlanta Braves since the Drew Smyly signing. It figures to be pretty quiet until at least after Thanksgiving week.

But it was announce that former Braves’ assistant GM (and now the new GM of the Angels) Perry Minasian is taking three more front office personel away from Atlanta.

Just like I said with Minasian, it’s hard to really know just how impactful those guys were. But certainly it’s never ideal to lose four guys from a front office that has been really good since Alex Anthopoulos took over.

But I what I do think is really cool on AA’s part is that he doesn’t hold these guys back from continuing their career. He has the right to not allow other teams to poach on his front office staff, as the Brewers did with David Sterns when the Mets asked if they could interview him for their GM opening.

Yes, it’s tough to lose guys like that, but I’m glad AA doesn’t deny them the opportunity.

I also trust AA and believe as long as we have him he’ll find the right guys to keep the ship on track.

Marcell Ozuna switches agents

In other news, it was announced over the weekend that Marcell Ozuna is switching agents for is upcoming free agency.

Ozuna has now gone from Scott Boras to MDR Sports Management and now to CAA in a span of two years.

Hopefully he has found the representation to get him the deal he deserves — and hopefully it’s with the Braves.

Johan Camargo to play in Winter Ball?

My spanish is not great – and by ‘not great’ I mean non-excistant, but it sounds like Johan Camargo could be by playing winter ball.

The tweet says ‘Welcome to Santiago!” I’m assuming that means he’s rejoining Aquilas — who he played for last in 2018.

I really hope this is the case — I haven’t seen him in the lineup since this was announced, but perhaps he’s going to join the team later. He needs the at-bats to hopefully retain some of his value.
