Atlanta Braves Have Plenty to be Thankful for this Thanksgiving

Thanks to a young core of great, talented players and a front office that knows the time is now, the Atlanta Braves have plenty to be thankful for.

It’s certainly been a rough year for not only our country but the entire world with this COVID-19 virus. But for Atlanta Braves fans, at least there has been a reason to be thankful.

I’m thankful we were even able to have a baseball season at all in 2020 — even if it was just 60 games. And I’m thankful that the Braves won their division again and advanced in the postseason, gaining some much-needed experience for the younger players.

Now as we move into the offseason, I’m thankful for Alex Anthopoulos and his aggressiveness to go out and sign the players they’ve targeted and put together a team that can once again compete for a World Series.

I know there is still a lot that has to be done, but the early moves — and their high prices — show me that AA isn’t going to hold back this offseason. He knows this team has the core pieces to win a championship and is trying to build around them.

As we move through the holiday season and into 2021, I’m hopeful that this pandemic will subside and fans can return to stadiums next season.

Personally, I’m thankful this COVID virus hasn’t impacted my family too much and I pray that remains.

However, I know that hasn’t been the case for everyone and we certainly mourn with those who have lost loved ones in all of this.

But on this Thanksgiving Day, we reflect on the things we are thankful for. And as meaningless as the game of baseball is in the grand scheme of things, it is nice to be rooting for a team that gives us so many reasons to be thankful.
