Sure, the Atlanta Braves started 0-4 to open the season.  But that’s not the big deal it really sounds like.

Perhaps that 0-4 stat is already too far gone since the Atlanta Braves have come back to win three straight games since Wednesday.  But that doesn’t mean that all is well.

Yes:  there are ample reasons to be happy with the comeback, and just the idea of watching every single Ronald Acuna Jr. plate appearance is appealing since we still don’t know exactly how far he can hit a baseball.

But there are warning signs around… and it’s clear that the Braves front office is paying attention.  Heck, we’re barely a week into the season now and there have been two more player acquisitions — one obtained via a bona fide trade.

So while we spent an ample amount of time in this newest podcast discussing all kinds of good news… we also wanted to make sure we’re paying attention to the “little” things that could bit this Braves club down the road.

Things such as…

  • A repeat of shoulder ills with Mike Soroka
  • The real reason that the Atlanta Braves decided that they needed to obtain Orlando Arcia from Milwaukee
  • Bullpen concerns, and finally…
  • The looming threat from this weekend’s opponent

Mind you:  even as we have these things to complain about, things are trending up:

  • Acuna is on pace to hit about 70 homers and hit nearly .400.
  • Ozzie Albies finally got a hit to fall…and then the rest of the offense caught fire
  • Our “no power” bench bats have combine to hit three pinch hit homers already.
  • Heck, even three of our starting pitchers have gotten hits!

So however you pick this up… we thank you for doing so.  Hopefully, we’ll all find a Braves team that’s roaring into the back half of April when we get together again next week!
