After a heartbreaking loss late in Game 3, the Atlanta Braves look to bounce back and take a commanding 3-1 series lead over LA in the NLCS.

It was a tough ending to Game 3 for the Atlanta Braves as the Dodgers made a late-inning come back to stun them in Los Angeles.

The Braves bullpen that had been so tough on opponents in the postseason faltered a bit as Cody Bellinger launched a game-tying home run that proved to be the momentum that LA needed to get their first win of the series.

However, there’s no time to dwell on what happened late in the game yesterday.

With Game 4 being a bullpen game, we need everyone that comes out of that gate to be in their best form. Winning one game is paramount while in LA.

Braves Starting Pitcher Today: Bullpen Game

A lot will be asked of this Atlanta bullpen that has in some ways overachieved what most people expected from them. This was supposed to be one of Atlanta’s weaknesses.

However, it has been quite the opposite. They face the toughest ask yet as they have to keep a powerful Dodgers lineup at bay that has found some momentum.

No opener has been announced yet but according to Mark Bowman, the Braves could ask A.J. Minter, Huascar Ynoa, or Drew Smyly to open the game.

Ynoa and Minter have pitched this postseason but Smyly has not pitched for the Braves since October 2nd.

Ynoa has pitched 1 inning so far this postseason and has allowed two runs on two hits with one walk and two strikeouts.

Minter has tossed 3.1 innings with no runs allowed on one hit with two walks and six strikeouts.

A.J. Minter was impressive in Game 5 last season as he held the Dodgers scoreless for three innings with seven strikeouts.

I’m not sure who Brian Snitker will choose to go with at the start of the game but we desperately need them to be sharp and give this team a chance to win.

Braves Starting Lineup

No lineup has been announced yet but I’m assuming it will be fairly similar to what it has been each game so far. Snit will also have to be smart with his bench strategy with the bullpen going so often.

A tentative lineup could be:

  1. Eddie Rosario
  2. Freddie Freeman
  3. Ozzie Albies
  4. Austin Riley
  5. Joc Pederson
  6. Adam Duvall
  7. Travis d’Arnaud
  8. Dansby Swanson
  9. Pitcher

Braves vs Dodgers Prediction Today

It won’t be an easy task for Atlanta as they face lefty Julio Urias.

Urias gave up a couple of runs in relief the other night so he isn’t unhittable but he is a tough customer.

In fourteen starts this year at Dodger Stadium, Urias is 7-1 and has a 3.27 ERA through 82.2 innings pitched.

Specifically against Atlanta, Urias has thrown eleven innings with a 2.45 ERA with two walks and two strikeouts.

So, the offense and bullpen both have their work cut out for them.

I won’t pretend that I’m not nervous about today’s game. Atlanta just cannot seem to win in Los Angeles and put the Dodgers away when they have them on the ropes.

This Braves team has been through a lot in 2021 and has overcome most of the adversity they’ve faced.

If any team has the ability to shake off a disappointing loss and get back on track, it’s this one.

Realistically, most of us didn’t think we’d be here with how the first half of the season went whether it was struggling to get to .500 or losing Ronald Acuña Jr for the year.

This team feels like it is built to do the unthinkable and bring home a world championship to the city of Atlanta.

Every game of the series so far has been close and required a come-from-behind win from each team.

I think the Braves are going to bounce back tonight and take Game 4.

My prediction is that the Braves will win with a final score of 6-4.
